We organize a networking afternoon around the local_area, so participants at the gathering have a chance to get out into the fresh air and have informal conversations in “wide open space”. We'll need volunteers with cars to drive people for these.

Stonehenge

Stone circle (36 miles away) Note that English Heritage limit access to walking in the centre circle which is roped off http://www.stonehenge.co.uk but we have a special booking for 8 people to visit the centre circle after the visitor centre closes from 18:30-19:30. Cost is £13 per person which includes access to the visitor centre before 18:30. Going on this excursion would mean missing evening meal at Ammerdown.

Avebury

Avebury Has a large stone circle (large enough that the village of avesbury is _inside_ the sonte circle), a piramid (with grass growing over it, underneath it has stones and steps). probably a keltic burial site). When Willem visited in 2006 there was no entrance fees (except a few quid to get into the museum) or queues, unlike stonehenge. In case anyone goes to Avebury, I recommend eating in the pub over the sort-of-canteen that sits next to the museum.
